I just read the latest "Drinking Water Quality Report" provided by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management and am really disturbed by the findings for the city where I live (Indianapolis). Here is a high-level summary of the findings:
- 25 chemical pollutants (US National Avg. = 8)
- 11 contaminants above health guidelines (US National Avg. = 4)
- 2 contaminants above the legal limit (i.e., above health standards) (US National Avg. = 0.5)
